1st July – 2015 PartyPoker World Pool Masters Ultimate Team Gear to supply WPM clothing HAVING RECENTLY completed a deal to make them Official Clothing Supplier for the 22nd annual PartyPoker Mosconi Cup, ULTIMATE TEAM GEAR have now signed on as the Official Shirt Supplier for this year’s PartyPoker World Pool Masters which takes place at the Victoria Warehouse, Manchester from 14-16 August. The Texas-based sports clothing manufacturers will be supplying their cutting edge designs to all 16 players competing at the Masters this year, incorporating national colours as well as the players’ names across the back. The Masters is now in its 23rd year and features 16 top players from around the world competing for a $70,000 prize fund. Defending champion is USA’s Shane Van Boening and other previous champions contending for the title will include Ralf Souquet (Germany), England’s Darren Appleton and Niels Feijen of Holland. Albin Ouschan (AUT) gewinnt World 9 Ball China Open 2015 im Finale gegen John Morra (CAN) mit 11-8. Den 3. Platz belegen Nick van den Berg (NED) und Chu Bingjie (CHN). Bei den Damen gewinnt Ga Young Kim (KOR) im Finale gegen Fu Xiaofang (CHN) mit 9-6. Den 3. Platz belegen Chen Siming (CHN) und Yu Han (CHN). Am Sonntag, den 28. Juni 2015 startet in Shanghai/China eines der größten und prestigeträchtigsten Pool Billard Turniere auf der ganzen Welt. 23rd June – 2015 PartyPoker World Pool Masters Draw and Schedule Announced WITH THE 2015 PartyPoker World Pool Masters set for the iconic Victoria Warehouse from 14th to 16th August, the draw has been made and schedule set for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend of world-class pool. Featuring 16 players from 14 nations, the field is headed up by defending champion and No.1 seed Shane Van Boening (USA) who gets his defence underway against the dangerous Canadian John Morra. The second match on the Friday evening features 2013 champion Niels Feijen against the No.1 player on the South American rankings following their continental championships next month. 8th June – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Makkonen makes a move FINLAND’S PETRI MAKKONEN landed his maiden Euro Tour title in Germany at the weekend and as he crashed the European Mosconi Cup rankings and put himself in the frame for a December trip to Las Vegas. The 27 year-old Finn came through a stellar field at Baunatal and defeated Konrad Juszczyszyn of Poland in the championship match to claim the 20 ranking points. The win put Makkonen into second place on the Euro Tour ranking list, three points behind Niels Feijen. He also moved into third position on the Combined ranking list, a single point behind joint leaders Marcus Chamat and David Alcaide. There are three separate ranking lists in operation – the first comprised of a five event Euro Tour series; the second a four event ‘World’ series and the last a combined ranking of the two. 05/06/2015 It was definitely a day of many surprises at the Dynamic Billard German Open in Baunatal, Germany, today. The tournament is down to the final 16 players now. The round of the last 32 players was the last round of the day and many surprises happened. One feature match was the encounter between Albin Ouschan (AUT) and Oliver Ortmann (GER). They met on table 1 and the match was an ongoing fight over the whole distance. Ouschan went on the hill first, taking an 8:7 lead over Ortmann. But the German fought back and got to the hill himself, tying the match at 8:8. The drama was so real and present in the venue. Many spectators held their breath when Ortmann broke and pocketed a ball, but the necessary conditions for a legal break were not met so Ouschan got to the table. He cleared the table until he got to the 7-ball. The positions he played got harder and harder and consequently, Ouschan missed the 7-ball since he had to jack up his […]

04/06/2015 At the Dynamic Billard German Open in Baunatal, Germany, Ralf Souquet (GER) loses his first winner’s round match to Kevin Becker (GER) by a whisker with 8:9. The first huge upset of the German Open has happened. Ralf Souquet lost his first match to Kevin Becker with 8:9. The match was a tough fight from start to the end. However, after 14 racks at a score of 7:7, it was Souquet to get on the hill first, turning the scoreboard to 8:7 in his favor. Rack 16 brought some safety shots by both players when suddenly Souquet had the better end on his side, being at the table in command of the match. But he committed a grave mistake. He attempted to play a safety shot on the 6-ball, hiding the cue ball behind the 9-ball. But the cue ball rolled too far and the outcome was an easy layout for Becker. Petri Makkonen (FIN) gewinnt German Open 2015 im Finale gegen Konrad Juszczyszyn (POL) mit 9-3. Den 3. Platz belegen Florian Hammer (GER) und Karl Boyes (GBR). Vom 04. – 06. Juni 2015 finden im nordhessischen Baunatal die German Open 2015 statt. Im August 2011 gab es zuletzt einen Euro-Tour Stopp in Deutschland, dieses damals in Brandenburg ausgetragene 10 Ball Pool Billard Event, die German Open 2011, gewann der Schweizer Dimitri Jungo im Finale gegen Serge Das (BEL) mit 8-5. In Baunatal laufen die Vorbereitungen für diese 9 Ball Veranstaltung auf Hochtouren und es werden mehr als 150 Pool Billard Spieler in der Stadthalle Baunatal an den Start gehen. Natürlich kommt der Großteil der Teilnehmer aus Deutschland, dennoch werden viele europäischen Top-Spieler am nächsten Wochenende erwartet. 27th April – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Chamat enters fray as race hots up MARCUS CHAMAT, who was recently named as captain of the 2015 European PartyPoker Mosconi Cup team is on course to land one of the three automatic spots following a runners-up spot in the recent Portuguese Open on the Euro Tour. The 39 year-old Swede was beaten by Poland’s Mateusz Sniegocki in the championship match, but the 16 pts earned coupled with his existing points tally, move him to a tie for first in the Combined Ranking along with David Alcaide (Spain) and Holland’s Niels Feijen. 24/04/2015 In an all-German clash between two experienced players, BCA Hall of Famer Ralf Souquet defeated Ralph Eckert in a heartbreaker with 9:8. The match took place in the winner’s round of the men’s division of the Dynamic Billard Portuguese Open Euro-Tour. Souquet had the better odds on his side. He has been active as a player ever since whereas Eckert had taken some detours in his career. His last stop was Singapore for the recent three months where he was employed by the local billiard federation to coach their players and prepare them for the SEA Games. The match took the course as expected in the beginning. Souquet was always ahead but Eckert did not let the gap get too big. However, after 13 racks the score was 8:5 in favor of Souquet and it looked like the deal was sealed. But Eckert struck back and turned the scoreboard to 6:8.
