Ko Pin-Yi (TW) gewinnt 2015 WPA World 9 Ball Championship im Finale gegen Shane Van Boening (USA) mit 13-11. Den 3. Platz belegen Ko Ping-Chung (TW) und Wu Jiaqing (CHN). Ab dem 07. September 2015 wird in Doha/Katar die diesjährige 9 Ball Weltmeisterschaft ausgetragen. Die 2015 WPA World 9 Ball Championship läuft bis zum 18. September 2015 und es werden so ziemlich alle Stars der Pool Billard Welt in Doha anzutreffen sein. Die 9 Ball WM gehört jedes zu den Events mit der größten Strahlkraft und dem größten Prestige. Und kaum ein anderes Turnier ist wohl so schwer zu gewinnen wie die Titelkämpfe im Al Arabi Sports Club. Extreme Temperaturen draußen, Klimaanlagen die den Spielort ziemlich runterkühlen und die besten Spieler der Welt. 20th August – 2015 World Cup of Pool World-class line up set for York Hall showdown With the annual World Cup of Pool coming back to London this September, Matchroom Sport can announce the 32 teams and players set to contest the annual $250,000 pairs tournament. Taking place at pool’s fiercest venue, the York Hall in Bethnal Green, the World Cup runs from Tuesday 22nd to 27th September. Defending champions are England A with Karl Boyes and Darren Appleton looking to become the first pair to successfully defend their crown. Competition will be tough though, with a host of previous winners and finalists taking part. Germany will be represented by 2011 champions Thorsten Hohmann and Ralf Souquet and 2012 winners Mika Immonen and Petri Makkonen (Finland) will be once again taking part. In diesem Jahr feiert einer der erfolgreichsten Pool Billard Vereine Deutschlands seinen 40. Geburtstag. Der BC Alsdorf wird den meisten Pool Billard Interessierten sicherlich ein Begriff sein. Seine Wurzeln hat der BC Alsdorf im Westen Deutschlands, er gehört zum Bezirksverband PBVRW und zum Landesverband BLMR. Über vier Jahrzehnte ist dieser Verein ein Vorbild für Kontinuität, Erfolg und Zusammenhalt. Unzählige Deutsche Meister, Europameister, Landesmeister, Bezirksmeister im Einzel und mit den Mannschaften hat der Verein hervorgebracht. Zu den bekanntesten Pool Billard Spielern, die in Alsdorf geformt wurden, zählt zum einen Ralf Souquet, der dreimalige Weltmeister und sechsfache World Pool Masters Champion. Ralf Souquet hat auch heute noch ein sehr enges Verhältnis zu „seinem“ Verein. Weitere Top-Spieler, die in Alsdorf groß geworden sind, sind u. a. Thomas Engert, Andreas Vondenhoff, Janine Schwan sowie Dirk und Uwe Bastin. All diese Spieler haben im Vereinstrikot des BC Alsdorf viele Titel feiern können. 16th August – 2015 PartyPoker World Pool Masters Quarter-Finals Shane Van Boening (USA) 8-5 Waleed Majid (QAT) Darren Appleton (ENG) 8-5 Johnny Archer (USA) Ralf Souquet (GER) 6-8 Mark Gray (ENG) The 2015 PartyPoker World Pool Masters is down to the last four as Shane Van Boening, Darren Appleton and Mark Gray all won through their afternoon quarter-final matches to join Liu Haitao in the semi-finals on Sunday night at the Victoria Warehouse. In the final match of the session, Mark Gray put in a terrific performance to defeat Ralf Souquet following an excellent comeback as the match slipped away from him. At 6-3 down Gray looked to have it all against him but a miss from the German put him back in and from there he never looked back. Said Gray, “I am well chuffed. 15th August – 2015 PartyPoker World Pool Masters Round One Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE) 3-8 Ralf Souquet (GER) Johnny Archer (USA) 8-2 James Georgiadis (AUS) Quarter-Finals Niels Feijen (HOL) 6-8 Liu Haitao (CHN) Liu Haitao, the 33 year-old from Neimenggu, China became the first man through to the semi-finals of the PartyPoker World Pool Masters as he overcame Holland’s Niels Feijen in a hard fought match at the Victoria Warehouse. Liu, the sharp-shooting World No.10, had a great start, aided by two misses by Feijen and it allowed him to take a 6-2 lead. Feijen though regrouped and won the next three to get within one rack of Liu. Momentum was stalled though when he broke dry in rack 12 and Liu ran out to move to 7-5. Feijen won rack 13 to stay alive but a push out to a jump with no shot on the 1 ball let Liu regain momentum with a quality jump shot. Shane Van Boening (USA) gewinnt im Finale des 2015 PartyPoker World Pool Masters gegen Darren Appleton (GBR) mit 8-2 und verteidigt seinen Titel vom Vorjahr ziemlich souverän. Den 3. Platz belegen Liu Haitao (CHN) und Mark Gray (GBR). Am nächsten Wochenende wird die gesamte Pool Billard Welt ihren Blick nach Manchester/GBR richten. Vom 14. – 16. August 2015 wird im Victoria Warehouse eines der spektakulärsten Pool Billard Einladungsevents der Welt stattfinden. Das 2015 PartyPoker World Pool Masters wird jedes Jahr von Matchroom Sport ausgerichtet und gehört zusammen mit dem World Cup of Pool und dem Mosconi Cup zu den wohl besten Pool Billard Events überhaupt. 4th August – 2015 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup Niels Feijen took a commanding lead at the top of the European Mosconi Cup ranking list after winning his second Euro Tour title of the year at the weekend. The Dutchman was MVP at last year’s PartyPoker Mosconi Cup, which saw Europe earn an 11-5 victory over Team USA in front of a record-breaking crowd in Blackpool, England and he had already won the Italian Open on the Euro Tour earlier this year. His win in the Dynamic Austria Open at the weekend saw him open up a 14-point lead at the top of the Euro Tour ranking list, meaning a quarter-final or better finish on home soil at the Dynamic Dutch Open in October will guarantee him a spot on this year’s European team. Feijen defeated Petri Makkonen at the quarter-final stage in Austria, meaning the Finnish star was displaced at the top of the rankings. Niels Feijen (NED) gewinnt Austrian Open 2015 im Finale gegen Joshua Filler (GER) mit 9-7. Den 3. Platz belegen Sebastian Ludwig (GER) und Francisco Diaz-Pizarro (SPA). Im Anschluss an die derzeit laufende Pool Billard Europameisterschaft der Junioren in Österreich findet der 4. Euro-Tour Stopp der Saison statt. Im sehr schönen Alpina Sporthotel in St. Johann haben sich bislang mehr als 230 Teilnehmer gemeldet und diese werden vom 30. Juli – 01. August 2015 um das Gesamtpreisgeld von 34.000€ spielen. Die letzte Euro-Tour fand zuletzt Anfang Juni im nordhessischen Baunatal statt und der Gewinner der German Open 2015 hieß am Ende Petri Makkonen aus Finnland, er bezwang im Finale Konrad Juszczyszyn aus Polen mit 9-3. Wir sind gespannt ob Petri Makkonen seine gute Form halten konnte und auch in St. Johann eine Siegchance haben wird. 19th July – 2015 PartyPoker World Pool Masters Gray seals Masters spot in Barnsley showdown MARK GRAY, one of the European heroes at last year’s Mosconi Cup, forced his way into the line-up of this year’s PartyPoker World Pool Masters following a 21-11 play-off victory over Daryl Peach at the Escape Pool Bar in Barnsley.
