First Amateur WPBL Tournament held in Phoenix Scott Frost and Rodney Morris Host Bonus Ball Exhibition LAS VEGAS, NV (January 15, 2014) The World Professional Billiard Leagueheld their first amateur tournament in Phoenix, AZ on January 11, 2014. The tournament which featured the game of Bonus Ball, had a division for bothmen and women. Michael Bates owner of Bull Shooters hosted the event with the assistance of Tres Kane and Phoenix Fire captain Scott Frost. The facility which boasts 44 tables under 20,000 sq. ft. of space, drew 30 participants and numerous spectators. Fans and players gathered at noon for a two hour exhibition instructed by Frost, Chicago Rockets captain Rodney Morris and WPBL President Larry Chiborak. The exhibition consisted of teaching the six pocket amateur version of Bonus Ball. The rules for this version only require the use of one specialty shot, all six pockets and is handicapped for all amateurs to play. 4th December, 2013 PartyPoker.net Mosconi Cup It’s Europe in a landslide USA 2-11 Europe Strickland & Hatch 3-6 Appleton & Souquet Earl Strickland 4-6 Karl Boyes Hatch & Morris 4-6 Immonen & Feijen TEAM EUROPE completed their finest ever PartyPoker.net Mosconi Cup win, as they beat the Americans 11-2, the second biggest winning margin in the 20 year history of the event. Needing three more points going into the third day, they reeled off the first three matches to hand out a humiliating defeat to the USA. It was Europe’s fourth win on the trot and their sixth in seven years. With a star-packed team, many felt that this was the Americans best chance in a while but after losing the first day 5-0, the writing was on the wall. America won two points on Tuesday but all in all it was a lame performance that will leave many questions. A win in the team game got things underway, before two doubles victories and singles wins for Mika Immonen and Darren Appleton piled on the misery for the Americans. The much-vaunted change in the break rules saw an inordinate number of dry breaks and it was the Europeans who played the better pool and made the least number of mistakes to build up a mammoth lead. Team Europe gewinnt Mosconi Cup 2013 gegen Team USA mit 11-2. MVP der Veranstaltung wurde völlig verdient Niels Feijen (NED). Vom 02. – 05. Dezember 2013 findet in Las Vegas/USA die 20. Auflage des legendären Mosconi Cups statt. Die diesjährige Jubiläumsausgabe der Matchroom Sport Topveranstaltung wird erneut alle Pool Billard Fans und Begeisterten mobilisieren. Dieser Nationenvergleich hat den gleichen Stellenwert wie z.B. im Golfsport der Ryder Cup. In diesem Jahr konnten sich die Spieler nicht anhand von Leistungen auf den Major Events qualifizieren. Der Veranstalter Matchroom Sport hat alle 10 Spieler selbst nominiert für den Mosconi Cup 2013. In den letzten 3 Jahren gewann Team Europa den Mosconi Cup ziemlich souverän, doch diesmal wird es für die Europäer um Team Captain Johan Ruijsink sicherlich ein wenig schwerer werden. Die Amerikaner machen in diesem Jahr einen sehr selbstbewussten Eindruck und scheinen fest entschlossen den Cup nach Amerika zurückzuholen. Bei den Damen gewinnt Akimi Kajitani (JAP) im Finale gegen Chihiro Kawahara (JAP) mit 9-7. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Tsai Pei Chen (TW) und Chou Chieh Yu (TW). Morgen beginnt in Amagasaki City, Hyogo/Japan die 46. Ausgabe der All Japan Championship 2013. Bei diesem recht hoch dotierten Turnier in Japan ist es jedes Jahr aufs Neue sehr schwer an Informationen zu kommen. Scheinbar legt man in Japan keinerlei Wert darauf das die Pool Billard Seiten dieser Welt mit Informationen versorgt werden. Leider wird auch auf Emails in keinster Weise geantwortet. Vieles bleibt im verborgenen und muss mühsam im Internet zusammengesucht werden. Die 46.
