It was an extraordinary day given over to unknown upstarts, newcomers, fearless young guns, and a few wily but unheralded veterans, all of whom seemed to collectively state to pool’s elite that it was time for some new and different names to grab the headlines for a change. That is, the players who lost their first match in the group stage, and would get one more chance in this double elimination format to get back on track for the knockout rounds, or face the ignominy of complete and utter failure on pool’s biggest stage. Going two losses and out in the World 9-ball Championship is about as bad as it gets for a professional pool player. Niels Feijen (NED) gewinnt 2014 WPA World 9 Ball Championship im Finale gegen Albin Ouschan (AUT) mit 13-10 und sichert sich den begehrtesten Pool Billard Titel der Welt. Den 3. Platz belegen Elmer D. Haya (PHI) und China Open 2014 Champion Chang Yu-Lung (TPE). Ab dem 16. Juni 2014 findet in Doha/Katar die 2014 WPA World 9 Ball Championship statt. Die 9 Ball Weltmeisterschaft der Herren gilt zusammen mit den China Open als eines der interessantesten und spannendsten Pool Billard Events im ganzen Jahr. Bis zum 27. These are the enticing elements on offer to pool fans around the globe as the biggest and most prestigious prize in the men’s professional game, the 2014 WPA World 9-ball Championship, goes up for grabs in the searing hot Middle Eastern city of Doha, Qatar, beginning on June 16th and running through June 27th. This will be the fifth straight year that that the tiny Gulf country of Qatar hosts pool’s most prestigious tournament. Natasha Serosthan (RUS) gewinnt bei den Mädchen im Finale gegen Yuki Hiraguchi (JAP) mit 6-2. Bei den Junioren gewinnt Ping Chung Ko (TW) gegen Sebastian Batkowski (POL) das Finale mit 8-5. Jouni Tahti (FIN) gewinnt das Finale der Rollstuhlfahrer gegen Fred Dinsmore (IRE). Seit heute bis zum 12. Dezember 2013 läuft in Johannesburg/Südafrika die WPA World 9 Ball Championships 2013 für Junioren, Mädchen und Rollstuhlfahrer. Meiner Meinung nach hat die Vermarktung dieser 9 Ball Weltmeisterschaft bislang nicht stattgefunden und die World Pool Billiard Association macht erneut einen mehr als peinlichen Eindruck. Das Turnier läuft seit heute und bislang sind keinerlei Informationen weitergereicht wurden. Es wirkt so, als ob diese Veranstaltung vonseiten des Weltverbandes eher ein lästiges Übel ist. Nun, genug gemeckert 😉 Viele Informationen gibt es leider nicht, es gehen bei den Junioren die 32 besten Spieler Ihrer Altersklasse in Gold Reef City an den Start. Ko Pin-Yi (TW) gewinnt 46th All Japan Championship 2013 im Finale gegen Chang Jung-Lin (TW) mit 11-10. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Thorsten Hohmann (GER) und Johann Gonzales Chua (PHI). Bei den Damen gewinnt Akimi Kajitani (JAP) im Finale gegen Chihiro Kawahara (JAP) mit 9-7. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Tsai Pei Chen (TW) und Chou Chieh Yu (TW). Morgen beginnt in Amagasaki City, Hyogo/Japan die 46. Ausgabe der All Japan Championship 2013. Bei diesem recht hoch dotierten Turnier in Japan ist es jedes Jahr aufs Neue sehr schwer an Informationen zu kommen. Scheinbar legt man in Japan keinerlei Wert darauf das die Pool Billard Seiten dieser Welt mit Informationen versorgt werden. Leider wird auch auf Emails in keinster Weise geantwortet. Vieles bleibt im verborgenen und muss mühsam im Internet zusammengesucht werden. Die 46.
