21st US Bar Table Championships 2014

Vom 24. Februar bis zum 02. März 2014 findet neben den US Open One Pocket Championship auch die 21. Ausgabe der US Bar Table Championship statt. Das Spiel auf den kleinen Tischen (7 Fuß) gibt es quasi nur noch in den USA und ist wegen der geringen Größe der Tische ein etwas anderes als auf normalen Turniertischen (9 Fuß). Der Platz ist geringer und das Stellungsspiel wird noch komplizierter und anspruchsvoller. Bei diesem Traditionsevent im Grand Sierra Hotel & Casino in Reno/USA werden insgesamt 128 Spieler in den Disziplinen 8 Ball, 9 Ball und 10 Ball an den Start gehen. Titelverteidiger der einzelnen Disziplinen sind Jason Klatt (CAN), Shane Van Boening (USA) und Dennis Orcollo (PHI) —> 20th Annual US Bar Table Championships 2013. Dennis Orcollo (PHI) gewinnt US Open One Pocket Championship 2014 im Finale gegen Shane Van Boening (USA) mit 5-3. Den 3. Platz belegt Corey Deuel (USA). Ab morgen, den 24. Februar 2014 werden im Grand Sierra Hotel & Casino in Reno/USA die 15. US Open One Pocket Championship ausgetragen. Das Finale findet am 28. Februar statt. One Pocket Turniere sind in den USA immer noch etwas Besonderes und erfreuen sich großer Beliebtheit. Diese Disziplin ist leider zeitlich recht schwer zu kalkulieren und deshalb ist das Teilnehmerfeld in Reno auf maximal 48 Spieler begrenzt. Im letzten Jahr gewann Dennis Orcollo (PHI) im Finale gegen den Lokalmatador Corey Deuel nach mehr als 6 Stunden Spielzeit mit 5-3. WPBL All Star Charity Billiards Challenge On Behalf of Philippine Haiyan Relief LAS VEGAS, NV (February 14, 2014) TheWorld Professional Billiard League hosted the WPBL All Star Charity Billiards Challenge on Friday February 14, 2014. The event which was held at the WPBL Arena in Las Vegas, was held on behalf of Typhoon Haiyan relief in the Philippines. Carlo Biado and Warren Kiamco registered back-to-back perfect games in singles, helping the Philippine All-Stars storm back for an 11-4 victory over a team of WPBL All-Stars. Biado broke and shot to a perfect score of 33 before missing a bonus ball attempt at a side pocket, in a game that saw opponent John Morra never make the table.Biado’s win gave the Filipino All-Stars an 8-4 lead before Kiamco took advantage of a Thorsten Hohmann illegal break that set up a run of 30 straight, ending the match at 11-4. Dennis Orcollo (PHI) gewinnt 18th Annual Jay Swanson Memorial 9 Ball Tournament 2014 im Finale gegen Mika Immonen (FIN) mit 11-5. Den 3. Platz belegt Carlo Biado (PHI). Vom 15. – 16. Februar 2014 findet in einer der bekanntesten Billardhallen in den USA die 18. Ausgabe des Jay Swanson Memorial 9 Ball Tournament 2014 statt. Dieses 9 Ball Event im Hard Times Billiards in Bellflower hat eine lange Tradition und ist jedes Jahr recht gut besetzt. Auch in diesem Jahr befinden sich einige internationale Topstars der Pool Billard Szene im 128 Spieler starken Teilnehmerfeld. Darunter sind Namen wie Dennis Orcollo (PHI), Dennis Hatch (USA), John Morra (CAN), Brandon Shuff (USA), Mitch Ellerman (USA), Louis Ulrich (USA), Hunter Lombardo (USA), Oscar Dominguez (USA) und Mika Immonen (FIN). Einen kostenlosen Livestream wird es ebenfalls geben. Die Livestreamexperten von Point of View Pool werden alle Pool Billard Fans mit laufenden Bildern versorgen. Derby City Classic 2014

In der Zeit vom 24. Januar bis 01. Februar 2014 findet im Horseshoe Casino in Indiana/USA die 16. Auflage des Derby City Classic statt. Auch in diesem Jahr ist das DCC eines der wichtigsten und spannendsten Pool Billard Events des Jahres. Über eine ganze Woche wird Pool Billard total geboten. Drei Hauptevents und zig Sideevents lassen keine Langeweile aufkommen. Die drei Hauptveranstaltungen sind 9 Ball Bank, One Pocket und 9 Ball. Die erfolgreichsten Teilnehmer aller Hauptevents kommen für den Titel „All Around Champion“ infrage und haben somit eine Chance auf das Preisgeld von 25.000$. Im letzten Jahr sicherte sich Francisco Bustamante (PHI) diesen Titel. Die spannendsten Sideevents sind die Straight-Pool Challenge und die DIAMOND Bigfoot 10-Ball Challenge, bei der es immerhin 16.000$ added Money abzustauben gibt. Das Gesamtpreisgeld des Derby City Classic 2014 liegt bei etwa 200.000$. Nahezu die gesamte Weltelite wird in Indiana am Start sein und versuchen einen guten Start ins Jahr 2014 zu haben. Vom 17. – 19. Januar 2014 findet in Las Vegas die 38. Ausgabe der sehr interessanten Showmatches von The Action Report statt. TAR 38 verspricht Pool Billard der Extraklasse zwischen Darren Appleton (GBR – 9 Ball World Champion 2012) und Dennis Orcollo (PHI – US Open 10 Ball Champion 2012). Das Match zwischen diesen beiden Weltklassespielern ist mit das Beste, was man sich derzeit anschauen kann, und verspricht tolle Partien. Gespielt wird an Tag eins One Pocket bis 7, an Tag zwei wird dann 8 Ball bis 30 gespielt und am letzten Tag gibt es noch mal einen Satz 10 Ball ebenfalls auf 30 Gewinnspiele. Den Livestream kann ich jedem Fan nur wärmstens empfehlen, in sehr guter Qualität und von Jay Helfert kommentiert kann man nicht wirklich viel falsch machen. Ko Pin-Yi (TW) gewinnt 46th All Japan Championship 2013 im Finale gegen Chang Jung-Lin (TW) mit 11-10. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Thorsten Hohmann (GER) und Johann Gonzales Chua (PHI). Bei den Damen gewinnt Akimi Kajitani (JAP) im Finale gegen Chihiro Kawahara (JAP) mit 9-7. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Tsai Pei Chen (TW) und Chou Chieh Yu (TW). Morgen beginnt in Amagasaki City, Hyogo/Japan die 46. Ausgabe der All Japan Championship 2013. Bei diesem recht hoch dotierten Turnier in Japan ist es jedes Jahr aufs Neue sehr schwer an Informationen zu kommen. Scheinbar legt man in Japan keinerlei Wert darauf das die Pool Billard Seiten dieser Welt mit Informationen versorgt werden. Leider wird auch auf Emails in keinster Weise geantwortet. Vieles bleibt im verborgenen und muss mühsam im Internet zusammengesucht werden. Die 46. 22nd September, 888.com World Cup of Pool 2013 Philippines edge the Dutch in World Cup thriller The Finals Philippines 10-8 Holland TEAM PHILIPPINES made up of Lee Vann Corteza and Dennis Orcollo became 888.com World Cup of Pool champions as they beat Holland in a thrilling conclusion after an action-packed final that illustrated the sheer excitement of top level pool. The match ebbed and flowed and reached a climactic final stage that saw both teams buckle before the Filipinos redeemed themselves sinking the 8 and 9 for the title and $60,000 top prize. It was the third win for the Philippines in the eight year history of the event, following wins for Efren Reyes and Francisco Bustamante in 2006 and 2009. With victories over Croatia, Singapore and now Hungary, there were probably tougher routes to the final day of the event but Orcollo and Corteza barely put a foot wrong as they broke well, potted well and on the rare occasions that their opponents got to the table, it was to extricate themselves from a snooker.
