Italy Open 2014 (Euro-Tour)

Nick van den Berg (NED) gewinnt Italy Open 2014 im Finale gegen Karol Skowerski (POL) mit 9-5. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Niels Feijen (NED) und Mark Gray (GBR). Die Euro-Tour startet vom 06. – 08. Februar 2014 in Treviso/Italien in die neue Saison. Bei den letzten Euro-Tour Events hatte der Veranstalter ein wenig mit rückläufigen Teilnehmerzahlen zu kämpfen und die Attraktivität der Tour wurde infrage gestellt. Mittlerweile sind für die Italy Open 2014 mehr als 130 Teilnehmer gemeldet und vielleicht ist das ein Zeichen dafür, dass es eventuell nur eine kleine Durststrecke war. Titelverteidiger ist Konstantin Stepanov (RUS), er bezwang im letztjährigen Finale Dimitri Jungo aus der Schweiz mit 9-7. Gespielt wird 9 Ball auf 9 Gewinnspiele mit Wechselbreak und das Gesamtpreisgeld beträgt 34.000 Euro. Austragungsort ist wie so oft das BHR Hotel in Treviso. Treviso Open Women 2013 (Eurotour)

Ina Kaplan (GER) gewinnt Treviso Open Women 2013 im Finale gegen Eyllul Kibaroglu (TUR) mit 6-0. Den 3. Platz belegen Kristina Zlateva (BUL) und Caroline Roos (SWE). Während der Treviso Open 2013 der Herren findet zeitgleich auch der letzte Euro-Tour Stop der Damen an gleicher Stelle statt. Die besten europäischen Pool Billard Spielerinnen werden in Treviso am Start sein und bei dieser 10 Ball Veranstaltung, um weitere Punkte für das Euro-Tour Ranking spielen. Das Gesamtpreisgeld beträgt 2.600 Euro und es wird auf 7 Gewinnspiele gespielt. Die Treviso Open Women 2013 beginnen am 06. Dezember und das Finale wird am 08. Dezember ausgetragen. Zu den Favoritinnen gehören die Nr. 1 in der Euro-Tour Rangliste Ana Mazhirina (RUS), Martine Christiansen (NOR), Ina Kaplan (GER), Barbara Bolfelli (ITA), Louise Furberg (SWE), Ine Helvik (NOR), Caroline Roos (SWE) und natürlich Jasmin Ouschan (AUT). Nick van den Berg (NED) gewinnt Treviso Open 2013 im Finale gegen Phil Burford (GBR) mit 8-5. Den 3. Platz belegen Huidji See (NED) und David Alcaide (SPA). Vom 05. – 07. Dezember findet in Treviso/Italien die letzte Euro-Tour Veranstaltung des Jahres statt. Die Treviso Open 2013 werden im sehr schönen BHR Treviso Hotel ausgetragen. Beim letzten Euro-Tour Event des Jahres wird 10 Ball auf 8 Gewinnspiele gespielt und das Gesamtpreisgeld beträgt 34.000 Euro. Derzeit sind 120 Spieler aus ganz Europa gemeldet, darunter ist bis auf wenige Ausnahmen alles, was Rang und Namen hat. Lediglich die etatmäßigen Euro-Tour Teilnehmer Ralf Souquet (GER), Karl Boyes (GBR) und Niels Feijen (NED) werden vermisst. Alle drei sind derzeit beim Mosconi Cup 2013 in Las Vegas für Europa im Einsatz. Many close results display the high quality of the matches Cison di Valmarino, Italy: This was probably one of the most dramatic rounds in the history of the Euro-Tour. Six out of eight matches went over the full distance and finished 9:8 with the other two matches being 9:7. This is a clear indication that the level of the top players in Europe is very close at this point in time. „If you could pick any name in the top 16 players of this event to win it, I would not know who to pick“, stated Daryl Peach, former 9-ball World Champion, „the level is so equal here and you have so many good players that it is really hard to predict who is going to take the title“, added Peach. Ralf Souquet (GER) gewinnt CastelBrando Open 2013 im Finale gegen Daniele Corrieri (ITA) mit 9-1. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Albin Ouschan (AUT) und Imran Majid (GBR)! Vom 07. – 09. November 2013 findet im wunderschönen Hotel CastelBrando in Cison di Valmarino/Italien der nächste Eurotour Stop statt, die CastelBrando Open 2013. Die Euro-Tour hat leider derzeit mit etwas rückläufigen Teilnehmerzahlen zu kämpfen, aber dennoch hat sich bis heute ein ca. 100 Teilnehmer großes Feld zusammengefunden. Das Gesamtpreisgeld beträgt 34.000 Euro und gespielt wird 9 Ball auf 9 Gewinnspiele mit Wechselbreak. Tough battle in the loser’s round Sarajevo, Bosnia & Hercegovina: After a fierce fight in the loser’s bracket, Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE) overcame Mehmet Bakici (TUR) with 8:7 in a thrilling finish. Ekonomopoulos already faced some serious problems today. He lost his opener and needed to win this match in order to stay alive in the tournament. His opponent is not among the top players of the Euro-Tour… but sometimes dark horses just come out of nowhere and perform incredibly well. The match started quite leveled with both players playing solid pool. After the first six racks, it was all square at 3:3. Then it seemed as if everything goes back to „business as usual“. Ekonomopoulos won three racks in a row and Bakici committed a few mistakes. Leading 6:3, Ekonomopoulos broke the rack and scratched. Bakici took the cue ball and ran out. Nach der EM ist vor der EM! Die Pool Billard Jugend Europameisterschaft 2013 ist gestern zu Ende gegangen und es geht quasi nahtlos weiter mit der Dynamic Billard European Championships Seniors & Ladies 2013 in Sarajevo/Bosnien Herzegowina. Vom 04. – 11. August werden in Sarajevo jetzt die Europameister bei den Senioren und Ladies gesucht. Auch die Kategorie der über 40 jährigen bietet Pool Billard auf sehr hohen Niveau und weiß mit den Kugeln umzugehen. Dennoch sei kritisch angemerkt, dass der Altersdurchschnitt meiner Meinung nach endlich mal angehoben werden müsste. Für Deutschland gehen dieses Jahr in den Disziplinen 8 Ball, 9 Ball, 10 Ball und Team folgende Spieler an den Start: Senioren —> Christophe Creter, Martin Schwab, Dirk Schwedes, Frank Willner, Reiner Wirsbitzki und Rudi Zick. Ladies —> Karin Michl, Wienke Thamsen und Susanne Wessel. Andreuzzi over Ibric like a hurricane

Khodjaeva once again on the loser’s side Sarajevo, Bosnia & Hercegovina: With an 8:0 whitewash, Nino Andreuzzi (GER) finished Azur Ibric’s (BIH) hopes in the 9-ball competition. The game was 9-ball and the round was the single elimination round of the final 32 junior players. 9-ball is a short rack game and is said to be the fastest of all pool-billiard games. However, Andreuzzi took that probably a bit too literally in his match with Ibric. He played fluently and quick, coming to a 5:0 lead after only 23 minutes. The Bosnian definitely was the underdog in this encounter from the very beginning. Andreuzzi had already taken two medals this week – Bronze in straight pool and Gold in 10-ball. But still Ibric was playing on his home turf having the support of the vivacious Bosnian crowd. But that did not seem to impress Andreuzzi at all. 10-ball competition finished at Youth EC Sarajevo, Bosnia & Hercegovina: The finals of the 10-ball competitions have been decided. In the girl’s division, favored Kamila Khodjaeva (BEL) overcame Germany’s Veronika Ivanovskaia with 5:3. In the pupil’s division, Daniel Guttenberger (AUT) snatched the gold medal, handing a 6:1 defeat to brave Kamil Szaszor (POL). Both players came to the final match very much unexpected. In the junior’s division, Nino Andreuzzi (GER) really had to work to claim his medal against Daniel Tangudd (SWE). He needed 13 racks to bring the second gold medal to Germany with 7:6. That puts Germany in first place of the medal table after two of five events. The Dynamic Billard EPBF European Championships Youth will continue tomorrow morning at 09:00 CET with the 8-ball competition. Gold for Filler and Batkowski

Medal fight between Germany and Poland ended in a dead heat Sarajevo, Bosnia & Hercegovina: The new European Straight Pool Champions are Joshua Filler (GER) in the pupil’s division and Sebastian Batkowski (POL) in the junior’s division. Filler started out nervous in his match with Krystian Cwikla (POL). Cwikla went ahead and took an early 31:4 lead. He played much calmer and seemed to be more focussed than Filler. But Filler never gave in. He stayed in the match and Cwikla committed some unforced errors. Filler brutally punished that by running 45 balls on Cwikla to turn the score 65:37 in his favor. That shocked Cwikla. He could not find his way back into the match and allowed Filler to take the points needed to win the match and the Championship title with 75:43. In the junior’s division, Batkowski found a tough match with Tobias Bongers (GER). The match was even for a long time. But then Batkowski ran 76 balls in two consecutive innings on Bongers, suddenly leading 76:50. Bongers hung in there and […]
