Vom 24. Februar bis zum 02. März 2014 findet neben den US Open One Pocket Championship auch die 21. Ausgabe der US Bar Table Championship statt. Das Spiel auf den kleinen Tischen (7 Fuß) gibt es quasi nur noch in den USA und ist wegen der geringen Größe der Tische ein etwas anderes als auf normalen Turniertischen (9 Fuß). Der Platz ist geringer und das Stellungsspiel wird noch komplizierter und anspruchsvoller. Bei diesem Traditionsevent im Grand Sierra Hotel & Casino in Reno/USA werden insgesamt 128 Spieler in den Disziplinen 8 Ball, 9 Ball und 10 Ball an den Start gehen. Titelverteidiger der einzelnen Disziplinen sind Jason Klatt (CAN), Shane Van Boening (USA) und Dennis Orcollo (PHI) —> 20th Annual US Bar Table Championships 2013. Dennis Orcollo (PHI) gewinnt US Open One Pocket Championship 2014 im Finale gegen Shane Van Boening (USA) mit 5-3. Den 3. Platz belegt Corey Deuel (USA). Ab morgen, den 24. Februar 2014 werden im Grand Sierra Hotel & Casino in Reno/USA die 15. US Open One Pocket Championship ausgetragen. Das Finale findet am 28. Februar statt. One Pocket Turniere sind in den USA immer noch etwas Besonderes und erfreuen sich großer Beliebtheit. Diese Disziplin ist leider zeitlich recht schwer zu kalkulieren und deshalb ist das Teilnehmerfeld in Reno auf maximal 48 Spieler begrenzt. Im letzten Jahr gewann Dennis Orcollo (PHI) im Finale gegen den Lokalmatador Corey Deuel nach mehr als 6 Stunden Spielzeit mit 5-3. WPBL Finals: Victory for the Outlaws LAS VEGAS, NV (February 15, 2014) The World Professional League played their first league championship at the WPBL Arena in Las Vegas, NV Friday February 13, 2014 which was broadcast live in the US via ESPN3. The final match-up had the #2 seed Minnesota Outlaws facing off against the league’s #12 seed the Atlanta Scorpions. The inaugural season’s first championship was not without some pomp and circumstance. Opening ceremonies included the singing of the National Anthem and displaying of the championship trophy that the winning team would take home. Johnny Archers’ Atlanta Scorpions who are not without superb talent, were league underdogs going into the match facing one of the most consistent teams throughout the season Thorsten Hohmann’s Minnesota Outlaws. In the end, the Outlaws proved too tough for the Scorpions as they held on to win the first WPBL Championship. WPBL Semi-Finals: Outlaws outlast the Poison Minnesota Outlaws Face-Off against the Atlanta Scorpions in the Finals LAS VEGAS, NV (February 13, 2014) The second World Professional League semi-final match was played at the WPBL Arena in Las Vegas, NV. On Thursday February 13, 2014. The match-up featured the #2 seed Minnesota Outlaws vs. the #9 seed Pittsburg Poison. The Poison’s dramatic run in the WPBL Championship Playoffs ended with a heartbreaking 7-5 loss to the Outlaws Thursday February 13th, sending Minnesota to Saturday’s WPBL Championship game to face the Atlanta Scorpions. Pittsburgh needed to win the final game in regulation to stay alive, but failed to score when given the opportunities down the stretch. That left the door open for Minnesota to run out the clock in regulation and clinch the match. Pittsburgh fell behind in the match 4-0 in the first three games before storming back to take a 5-4 lead when Shawn Putnam outlasted Ralf Souquet in a singles shoot-out 27-19. Shane Van Boening (USA) gewinnt US Open 9 Ball Championships 2013 im Finale gegen Lee Vann Corteza (PHI) mit 13-10. Den 3. Platz belegt Jayson Shaw (SCO)! Die 38. Ausgabe der US Open 9 Ball Championships findet vom 13. – 19. Oktober 2013 im Marriott Hotel in Chesapeake statt. Stand heute, den 12. Oktober sind mehr als 160 Teilnehmer gemeldet. Dieses sehr traditionsreiche Pool Billard 9 Ball Turnier ist dass einzige weltweit das seit mehr als 30 Jahren ohne Unterbrechung stattfindet. Es gilt als eines der am schwersten zu gewinnenden Turniere überhaupt und hat den Stellenwert einer Weltmeisterschaft. Der erste Sieger der US Open 9 Ball 1976 war Mike Sigel (USA). Der erste Europäer, der dieses Turnier gewann ist der Deutsche Ralf Souquet. Er ist damit in der Geschichte dieses Turniers einer von lediglich drei Europäern, die die US Open 9 Ball gewinnen konnten. Die gesamte Siegerliste gibt es weiter unter. Platz Efren Reyes (PHI)!“ Eines der traditionsreichsten Turniere der Welt findet dieses Jahr vom 21. – 27. Oktober statt. Für viele ist es die Mutter aller Pool Billard Turniere und der Titel bei der 37. Ausgabe der US Open 9 Ball Championships ist fast genau soviel Wert wie der einer Weltmeisterschaft. 1976 wurden die US Open 9 Ball das erste mal ausgetragen und der Sieger hieß Mike Sigel (USA). Der erfolgreichste Spieler bei den „Open“ bislang ist Earl Strickland (USA) mit 5 Turniersiegen! Auch dieses Jahr wird das Teilnehmerfeld ziemlich stark besetzt sein.
