Italy Open 2014 (Euro-Tour)

Nick van den Berg (NED) gewinnt Italy Open 2014 im Finale gegen Karol Skowerski (POL) mit 9-5. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Niels Feijen (NED) und Mark Gray (GBR). Die Euro-Tour startet vom 06. – 08. Februar 2014 in Treviso/Italien in die neue Saison. Bei den letzten Euro-Tour Events hatte der Veranstalter ein wenig mit rückläufigen Teilnehmerzahlen zu kämpfen und die Attraktivität der Tour wurde infrage gestellt. Mittlerweile sind für die Italy Open 2014 mehr als 130 Teilnehmer gemeldet und vielleicht ist das ein Zeichen dafür, dass es eventuell nur eine kleine Durststrecke war. Titelverteidiger ist Konstantin Stepanov (RUS), er bezwang im letztjährigen Finale Dimitri Jungo aus der Schweiz mit 9-7. Gespielt wird 9 Ball auf 9 Gewinnspiele mit Wechselbreak und das Gesamtpreisgeld beträgt 34.000 Euro. Austragungsort ist wie so oft das BHR Hotel in Treviso. Mick Hill (GBR) gewinnt 2013 UK 9-Ball Open im Finale gegen Phil Burford (GBR) mit 11-7. Den 3. Platz belegen Ruslan Chinakhov (RUS) und Michael Valentine (GBR). Nach dem 2013 British Grand Prix in Telford geht es direkt weiter mit der 2013 UK 9-Ball Open. Die 2013 UK 9-Ball Open sind das zweite Turnier im Rahmen des 2013 GB9 Festival of Pool und laufen vom 02. – 03. Dezember. Die UK 9 Ball Open haben ein Gesamtpreisgeld von ca. 25.000 Euro und das dürfte sicher die besten europäischen Pool Billard Spieler anlocken. Ko Pin-Yi (TW) gewinnt 46th All Japan Championship 2013 im Finale gegen Chang Jung-Lin (TW) mit 11-10. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Thorsten Hohmann (GER) und Johann Gonzales Chua (PHI). Bei den Damen gewinnt Akimi Kajitani (JAP) im Finale gegen Chihiro Kawahara (JAP) mit 9-7. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Tsai Pei Chen (TW) und Chou Chieh Yu (TW). Morgen beginnt in Amagasaki City, Hyogo/Japan die 46. Ausgabe der All Japan Championship 2013. Bei diesem recht hoch dotierten Turnier in Japan ist es jedes Jahr aufs Neue sehr schwer an Informationen zu kommen. Scheinbar legt man in Japan keinerlei Wert darauf das die Pool Billard Seiten dieser Welt mit Informationen versorgt werden. Leider wird auch auf Emails in keinster Weise geantwortet. Vieles bleibt im verborgenen und muss mühsam im Internet zusammengesucht werden. Die 46. November 2013 findet im wunderschönen Hotel CastelBrando in Cison di Valmarino/Italien der nächste Eurotour Stop statt, die CastelBrando Open 2013. Die Euro-Tour hat leider derzeit mit etwas rückläufigen Teilnehmerzahlen zu kämpfen, aber dennoch hat sich bis heute ein ca. 100 Teilnehmer großes Feld zusammengefunden. The $66,000 tournament has been a staple on the pool calendar for over two decades and was making its first appearance in the UK since 2005. In front of an excellent first night crowd at the popular Yorkshire venue, defending champion Karol Skowerski of Poland fell at the first hurdle as was beaten 8-3 by England’s Chris Melling who looked in fine form in front of his local fans. Ausgabe der US Open 9 Ball Championships findet vom 13. – 19. Oktober 2013 im Marriott Hotel in Chesapeake statt. Stand heute, den 12. Oktober sind mehr als 160 Teilnehmer gemeldet. Dieses sehr traditionsreiche Pool Billard 9 Ball Turnier ist dass einzige weltweit das seit mehr als 30 Jahren ohne Unterbrechung stattfindet. Es gilt als eines der am schwersten zu gewinnenden Turniere überhaupt und hat den Stellenwert einer Weltmeisterschaft. Der erste Sieger der US Open 9 Ball 1976 war Mike Sigel (USA). Der erste Europäer, der dieses Turnier gewann ist der Deutsche Ralf Souquet. There were also wins at the York Hall for Chinese Taipei and Philippines as the big guns made their move into the quarter-finals. Italy won the session closer as they got the better of Spain in the Mediterranean clash. The Spanish – David Alcaide and Juan Carlos Exposito – didn’t enjoy the best of luck as they scratched a few times and were confronted by some tricky layouts.
