Die 9 Ball Weltmeisterschaft der Herren gilt zusammen mit den China Open als eines der interessantesten und spannendsten Pool Billard Events im ganzen Jahr. Bis zum 27. These are the enticing elements on offer to pool fans around the globe as the biggest and most prestigious prize in the men’s professional game, the 2014 WPA World 9-ball Championship, goes up for grabs in the searing hot Middle Eastern city of Doha, Qatar, beginning on June 16th and running through June 27th. This will be the fifth straight year that that the tiny Gulf country of Qatar hosts pool’s most prestigious tournament. Ralf Souquet (GER) belegt Platz 5. Vom 13. – 16. März 2014 findet in New Jersey Convention Center in Edison/USA die ultimative Billardmesse statt. Die Super Billiards Expo wird in diesem Jahr zum 22. mal ausgetragen und zählt zu den Highlights des gesamten Jahres. Viele internationale Billardfirmen und die besten Cuemaker der Welt stellen dort der Billardwelt Ihre Produkte vor. Natürlich gibt es während der Expo diverse Pool Billard Events. Vom 24. Februar bis zum 02. März 2014 findet neben den US Open One Pocket Championship auch die 21. Ausgabe der US Bar Table Championship statt. Das Spiel auf den kleinen Tischen (7 Fuß) gibt es quasi nur noch in den USA und ist wegen der geringen Größe der Tische ein etwas anderes als auf normalen Turniertischen (9 Fuß). Der Platz ist geringer und das Stellungsspiel wird noch komplizierter und anspruchsvoller. Bei diesem Traditionsevent im Grand Sierra Hotel & Casino in Reno/USA werden insgesamt 128 Spieler in den Disziplinen 8 Ball, 9 Ball und 10 Ball an den Start gehen. Titelverteidiger der einzelnen Disziplinen sind Jason Klatt (CAN), Shane Van Boening (USA) und Dennis Orcollo (PHI) —> 20th Annual US Bar Table Championships 2013. WPBL Finals: Victory for the Outlaws LAS VEGAS, NV (February 15, 2014) The World Professional League played their first league championship at the WPBL Arena in Las Vegas, NV Friday February 13, 2014 which was broadcast live in the US via ESPN3. The final match-up had the #2 seed Minnesota Outlaws facing off against the league’s #12 seed the Atlanta Scorpions. The inaugural season’s first championship was not without some pomp and circumstance. Opening ceremonies included the singing of the National Anthem and displaying of the championship trophy that the winning team would take home. Johnny Archers’ Atlanta Scorpions who are not without superb talent, were league underdogs going into the match facing one of the most consistent teams throughout the season Thorsten Hohmann’s Minnesota Outlaws. In the end, the Outlaws proved too tough for the Scorpions as they held on to win the first WPBL Championship.
