Brother-sister duel in the Euro-Tour The Dynamic Eurotour – Slovenia Open – 21-24 aug 2014 21/08/2014 The Dynamic Billard Slovenian Open had a novelty today: For the first time, brother and sister met in the second winner’s round. We are talking about Jasmin and Albin Ouschan from Austria. They both had a walk-over in the first round. Then, in the first winner’s round, Jasmin defeated Andrey Seroshtan (RUS) 9:5 while Albin overcame Michael Lichodziejewski (POL) 9:7. This brought the two together in winner’s round two. They started out quite equally. Then, Jasmin committed two mistakes which was enough for her brother to snatch the needed points off her, winning the match with 9:4. „When we saw we had to play each other, we had to laugh“, stated Albin after the match. „Jasmin and I have played each other in competition six or seven years ago for the last time“. 2014 World Cup of Pool – Euro Qualifier starts tomorrow 18 August – 2014 World Cup of Pool – Euro Qualifier set for Slovenia THE EUROPEAN QUALIFYING event for the 2014 World Cup of Pool gets underway tomorrow (Tuesday) in Portoroz, Slovenia with a first round match-up against China awaiting the victors. There are eight two-man teams taking part with the winning team gaining a sport at the Mountbatten Centre, Portsmouth where the World Cup takes place from 23rd to 28th September. With a $250,000 prize fund on offer, there will be everything to play for and the European qualifiers have got a superb record of upsetting the odds in recent years. Der nächste Euro-Tour Stop 2014 findet direkt nach den Europameisterschaften der Jugendlichen und Senioren in Portoroz/Slowenien statt. In der Zeit vom 21. – 23. August 2014 trifft sich in Portoroz bei den Slovenian Open 2014 mal wieder annähernd die Gesamte europäischen Pool Billard Elite. Die letzte Euro-Tour Veranstaltung im Mai fand in Österreich statt und die Austria Open 2014 gewann Denis Grabe (EST) im Finale gegen Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE) mit 9-1. Natürlich ist auch diese Euro-Tour teil des Mosconi Cup Rankings 2014. In einigen Tagen findet vom 15. – 17. August 2014 in Rotterdam die 6. Ausgabe der LONGONI Benelux Open statt. Die 2014 LONGONI Benelux Open sind wie jedes Jahr eines der am besten organisierten und vor allem promoteten Pool Billard Turniere auf dem europäischen Kontinent. Bereits viele Monate vorher ist der Veranstalter Cakti Aswan und sein Hauptsponsor Longoni sehr bemüht, dieses Turnier zu bewerben. Und wie bereits in den letzten Jahren folgen sehr viele internationale Topstars der Szene dieser Aufforderung bei den LONGONI Benelux Open anzutreten. Das 10 Ball Event hat bereits jetzt mehr als 110 Meldungen und das 128er Teilnehmerfeld ist so gut wie ausgebucht. Oliver Ortmann (GER) gewinnt Ardennen Cup 2014 im Finale gegen Andreas Roschkowsky (GER) mit 6-2. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Julian Kortüm (GER) und Roman Hybler (CZE). Der Ardennen Cup 2014 findet wie jedes Jahr über Pfingsten statt. In der Zeit vom 05. – 09. Juni 2014 wird in Ettelbrück/Luxemburg eines der größten europäischen Turniere stattfinden. Wie immer wird den mehr als 300 Teilnehmern eine Menge geboten. Es gibt das große Hauptevent der Herren, eine Damenkonkurrenz, die zeitgleich der nächste Euro-Tour Stop ist, einen Teamwettbewerb und das Jugendturnier. Das Gesamtpreisgeld aller Veranstaltungen beträgt ca. 20.000 Euro. Der Ardennen Cup ist jedes Jahr beliebter Zielort vieler Pool Billard Freunde und diverser Topspieler. Souquet out after two rounds Probably the most famous casualty of day 1 of the Dynamic Billard Austrian open in Hotel Alpina, St. Johann, Austria, is BCA Hall of Famer Ralf Souquet (GER). He lost two straight matches against Maksim Dudanets (RUS) with 7:9 and then to completely unheralded Andreas Koukiadakis (GRE) also with 8:9 after being in the lead with 8:4. After having won the last Euro-Tour in Kyrenia, North Cyprus, this is a huge disappointment for the German superstar. Other notable results from today include Belgium’s Serge Das losing to Dudanets with 8:9 in his first round match. Then, he remained victorious over Michel Bartol from Croatia with the same result. According to the information on Das’ Facebook page, his opponent dogged some important shots during the 17th rack and allowed Das to stay in the tournament. Denis Grabe (EST) gewinnt Austria Open 2014 im Finale gegen Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE) mit 9-1. Den 3. Platz belegen Nick van den Berg (NED) und Niels Feijen (NED). Am kommenden Donnerstag, den 22. Mai 2014 findet der nächste Euro-Tour Stop in Sankt Johann/Österreich statt. Im sehr schönen Alpina Wellness & Sporthotel treffen bis zum Finaltag am 24. Mai 2014 so ziemlich die besten Pool Billard Spieler Europas aufeinander, um den Champion der Austria Open 2014 zu ermitteln. Bereits im Vorjahr fanden die Austria Open an gleicher Spielstätte statt und den Titel 2013 sicherte sich der Niederländer Niels Feijen. Im Finale 2013 bezwang er Alexander Kazakis aus Griechenland deutlich mit 9-4. Das Gesamtpreisgeld dieser 9 Ball Veranstaltung beträgt 34.000 Euro und natürlich werden auch bei diesem Tour Stop wichtige Punkte für das europäischen Mosconi Cup Team verteilt. Ralf Souquet (GER) gewinnt North Cyprus Open 2014 im Finale gegen Karl Boyes (GBR) mit 9-4. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Chris Melling (GBR) und Mieszko Fortunski (POL). Die Europameisterschaft 2014 geht in die heiße Phase und die Vorbereitungen für das nächste Euro-Tour Highlight laufen auf Hochtouren. Direkt nach der EM starten am 10. April die North Cyprus Open 2014 und das Finale wird am Samstag, den 12. April ausgetragen. Mit knapp 160 Meldungen gibt es nach langer Zeit mal wieder einen Teilnehmerhöchststand zu vermelden. Natürlich ist dies der Europameisterschaft geschuldet. Die Teilnehmer der Dynamic European Championship bleiben natürlich zum Großteil in Kyrenia, um an diesem nächsten Euro-Tour Stop teilzunehmen. Chinakhov eliminates Alcaide and Das in a row The 10-Ball competition at the Dynamic Billard European Championships for Men, Women and Wheelchair Athletes in Acapulco Hotel and Resort, Kyrenia, North Cyprus, has provided the spectators with some unexpected results today. A total of 98 men, 46 women and 17 wheelchair players have lined up today to see who will eventually snatch the title from the current Champions. Ruslan Chinakhov came up with the first upset of the day. He defeated David Alcaide (ESP) in a tight thriller with 8:7. In the next round, Chinakhov went ahead and also sent Serge Das (BEL) to the loser’s side. Defending Champion Mateusz Sniegocki (POL) was another famous victim of today’s play. He lost his opening match to Daryl Peach (GBR) with 7:8. Peach proceeded into the single elimination round of the final 64 players while Sniegocki takes the long way.
