Niels Feijen (NED) gewinnt 2014 WPA World 9 Ball Championship im Finale gegen Albin Ouschan (AUT) mit 13-10 und sichert sich den begehrtesten Pool Billard Titel der Welt. Den 3. Platz belegen Elmer D. Haya (PHI) und China Open 2014 Champion Chang Yu-Lung (TPE). Ab dem 16. Juni 2014 findet in Doha/Katar die 2014 WPA World 9 Ball Championship statt. Die 9 Ball Weltmeisterschaft der Herren gilt zusammen mit den China Open als eines der interessantesten und spannendsten Pool Billard Events im ganzen Jahr. Bis zum 27. Juni werden im Al Saad Sports Club in Doha die besten Pool Spieler aus der ganzen Welt um den wohl begehrtesten Titel der Szene kämpfen. Chang Yu-Lung (TPE) gewinnt World 9 Ball China Open 2014 im Finale gegen Jeffrey Ignacio (PHI) mit 11-9. Den 3. Platz belegen Carlo Biado (PHI) und Chang Rong-Lin (TPE). Bei den Damen gewinnt die amtierende 9 Ball Weltmeisterin Yu Han (CHN) im Finale gegen Ga Young Kim (KOR) mit 9-5. Den 3. Platz belegen Liu Shasha (CHN) und Chen Siming (CHN). Am kommenden Sonntag, den 01. Juni 2014 beginnt eines der größten Pool Billard Turniere des Jahres. Die World 9 Ball China Open 2014 gehören zu den besten Events im Kalender. As all of you probably noticed I’ve worked hard to get this edition of DCC right up there with the biggest tournaments in Europe and on the international stage. Therefore I had to get it noticed by a lot of people.. you be the judge whether I succeeded in doing my job. I know that from time to time it must have been a little but annoying to get spammed and notified every single day for the past few months, but in my opinion just a marginal downside of things, it’s simply the way marketing works nowadays. Preview: 2014 GB9 Paul Medati Trophy, the Pro Cup & the Rasson Billiards Challenge Cup Memories from yesteryear will be rekindled in more ways than one as the GB 9 Ball Tour returns to Daventry for this year’s Paul Medati Trophy, the GB9 Pro Cup and the Rasson Billiards Challenge Cup. Whilst not everyone on the tour will have played against or alongside Paul Medati in their careers, most will be aware of his dedication to cuesports and to GB9. A former snooker professional who made the hop over to American pool in later life, his was a warm and wonderful character who is missed on the tour to this day. His legacy lives on in GB9′s annual competition named in his honour, and the best pool players from across Great Britain and the continent will be doing battle to try and win the winner’s purse and beautiful Paul Medati Trophy itself. Die Ergebnisse zu den Side-Events gibt es weiter unten. Eines der Pool Billard Highlights des Jahres 2014 in Europa, findet vom 09. – 11. Mai in Deurne/Niederlande statt. Die 2. Ausgabe des Deurne City Classic ist ein äußerst ambitioniertes Projekt. Vorbild dieser Veranstaltung ist das weltweit sehr beliebte und bekannte Derby City Classic, das jedes Jahr im Januar ausgetragen wird. Das Besondere an dieser Veranstaltung ist die Vielzahl an Side-Events und weiteren kleinen Challenges neben dem Hauptevent. Auch beim Deurne City Classic 2014 wird für Spieler und Zuschauer eine Menge geboten im kleinen Städtchen Deurne in der Nähe von Eindhoven. Apostolis Alexandris (GRE) gewinnt Different 9 Ball Open 2014 im Finale gegen Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE) mit 11-9. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Karl Boyes (GBR) und Alexander Kazakis (GRE). Stargast Shane Van Boening (USA) verliert im Viertelfinale gegen Alexander Kazakis (GRE) mit 11-9. Vom 24. – 27. April 2014 findet in Athen/Griechenland das Different 9 Ball Open 2014 statt. Als das 9 Ball Turnier vor einigen Wochen angekündigt wurde, war das staunen innerhalb der Szene ziemlich groß. Kein Geringerer als US Superstar Shane Van Boening wird in Athen an den Start gehen. Shane Van Boening zählt derzeit zu den besten Pool Billard Spielern überhaupt. Auf Einladung seines Freundes Nikos Ekonomopoulos lies sich „The South Dakota Kid“ nicht zweimal bitten. Es kommt recht selten vor das Shane Van Boening in Europa ist, lediglich zum Mosconi Cup oder World Pool Masters hat man die Chance diesen Ausnahmekönner Live zu erleben. Souquet and Ouschan win the Dynamic Billard North Cyprus Open Ralf Souquet (GER) and Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) have won the titles at the Dynamic Billard North Cyprus Open Euro-Tour. In the men’s division, Ralf Souquet played at his best. He took down great names like Ivo Aarts (NED) 9:0, Imran Majid (GBR) 9:3, Mieszko Fortunski (POL) 9:3 and in the final match Karl Boyes (GBR) with 9:4. The final match was dominated by Souquet from start to finish. A bit scrappy in the beginning, Souquet turned out to have the far better break shot than Boyes. He pocketed almost every time a vll on his break and ran out 4 racks without even allowing Boyes into the table. The Brit however had to struggle with his break shot. Most of the time, he came up dry with no ball down or not enough balls crossing the kitchen line. This situation was taken advantage of by Souquet without any mercy. Ralf Souquet (GER) gewinnt North Cyprus Open 2014 im Finale gegen Karl Boyes (GBR) mit 9-4. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Chris Melling (GBR) und Mieszko Fortunski (POL). Die Europameisterschaft 2014 geht in die heiße Phase und die Vorbereitungen für das nächste Euro-Tour Highlight laufen auf Hochtouren. Direkt nach der EM starten am 10. April die North Cyprus Open 2014 und das Finale wird am Samstag, den 12. April ausgetragen. Mit knapp 160 Meldungen gibt es nach langer Zeit mal wieder einen Teilnehmerhöchststand zu vermelden. Natürlich ist dies der Europameisterschaft geschuldet. Die Teilnehmer der Dynamic European Championship bleiben natürlich zum Großteil in Kyrenia, um an diesem nächsten Euro-Tour Stop teilzunehmen. Dieses Turnier ist nicht nur ein weiteres Euro-Tour Event, es zählt auch zu den Turnieren das in diesem Jahr Punkte für das europäische Mosconi Cup Ranking bringt. Nick van den Berg (NED) gewinnt Italy Open 2014 im Finale gegen Karol Skowerski (POL) mit 9-5. Den 3. Platz teilen sich Niels Feijen (NED) und Mark Gray (GBR). Die Euro-Tour startet vom 06. – 08. Februar 2014 in Treviso/Italien in die neue Saison. Bei den letzten Euro-Tour Events hatte der Veranstalter ein wenig mit rückläufigen Teilnehmerzahlen zu kämpfen und die Attraktivität der Tour wurde infrage gestellt. Mittlerweile sind für die Italy Open 2014 mehr als 130 Teilnehmer gemeldet und vielleicht ist das ein Zeichen dafür, dass es eventuell nur eine kleine Durststrecke war. Titelverteidiger ist Konstantin Stepanov (RUS), er bezwang im letztjährigen Finale Dimitri Jungo aus der Schweiz mit 9-7. Gespielt wird 9 Ball auf 9 Gewinnspiele mit Wechselbreak und das Gesamtpreisgeld beträgt 34.000 Euro. Austragungsort ist wie so oft das BHR Hotel in Treviso.
